Love the Present

Learning to accept the present can be an exercise in patience for what you want.

Have you ever finished something on your “to do” list and celebrated?  I mean REALLY celebrated by doing a happy dance or calling a friend with the good news or by treating yourself to a few minutes sitting outside with a cup of tea? If you have, well done!!   Knowing the benefits of gratitude, this is a way to appreciate your life and all it has to offer.

If you are aware of the benefits of gratitude but still need more practice, you are amazing! Here is your reminder of why gratitude is so important.

Gratitude will increase your happiness, support your immune system, help you sleep better, reduce stress, and increase resilience, among so many other things.

Where can you start? Right here, right now.  Look at your current life and everything in it. Notice the things that you love, the people you enjoy spending time with and the experiences that bring you joy. Spend a few minutes a day just appreciating the good in your life.

Yes, there are things that aren’t going as well as you’d like but for just a few minutes a day or as often as you can, let those things go and focus only on the things that make you relax, smile or simply make you feel a little better in the middle of a busy day.

Working through the ”to do” list will be so much more enjoyable with a moment of appreciation and maybe even a smile separating the tasks!

Say thank you and love your present. It is the first step to creating a fulfilling and enjoyable life from this moment into a future that will give you so many happy dance moments!!
