What if it were easy?

Several times this month, I had clients come to me with things that felt really big to them. So I asked, from a place of complete curiosity, “What if it was easy?”

My own experiences around this have been numerous over the years but this one stands out above the rest. Several years ago, I decided to further my education as a life coach and ran into an issue of getting a loan to pay for it. I was rejected, but didn’t let it stop me from looking for other options. I called the school and discovered I could get an interest-free loan directly from them! The payments were going to be a bit higher though, but I didn’t worry about it. About two weeks after I signed the paperwork for the loan from the school, I landed two jobs that would more than pay the loan back on time and within my budget. These jobs basically landed in my lap. I wasn’t even looking. I just practiced the belief that this was all going to work out if it was meant to. And it was easy! I have practiced this multiple times since then and help my clients practice it as well. The feeling of relief and ease is just a thought away!

So often we get locked into believing our own limiting beliefs are the rulers of our lives. And yet, often, they are just beliefs that we have chosen to carry around with us. They aren’t good or bad, but they might be keeping us from our true potential because we have chosen to believe that we are not enough. Not educated, young, smart, pretty, popular, talented, or rich enough. Notice if this is you. After all, most of us have been through this at one time or another. It always seems that the other person gets the guy, the job, the money, or whatever it is we think we want.

But what if it were easy to get what you want? How would you feel if you knew you couldn’t fail? There is relief packed into those words and often there is an answer too. When we allow ourselves to climb up out of the limiting beliefs we think are true and really look around at what’s possible, ideas may come and opportunities can follow.

You can only fail if you believe you will. Every decision and every experience is loaded with teachable moments and opportunities. After all, you may not get that job, but by trying for it, you are allowing yourself to practice for the job that really is out there for you! Talk to people and tell them about your plans. Share your belief system that sees you with all that you’ve asked for. Attach yourself to the feeling it gives you, not the outcome.

As a teacher, I don’t tell the students if I think something is hard because what if it’s easy for them? My challenge may be someone else’s easy.

So next time you encounter a situation that feels heavy or daunting, ask yourself “What if this were easy?” and feel the relief. Notice the feeling of joy or excitement that follow and then watch the ideas begin to take shape or the exact thing you need present itself to you.

You got this!
