Letting Go

I am writing a presentation about Being Present. It is very fitting for the beginning of a new year because we all tend to reflect at the end of a year. And, I don’t know about you but, 2020 was NOTHING like I had envisioned a year ago!

Most of us are where we are because the past happened. Either something worked really well and was repeated, or something went horribly wrong and changes were made that helped evolve into now.

But what are you bringing into the present that threatens to send you back into the past, like an elastic band that is stretched around the waist? You have beliefs and habits that may no longer serve you and yet they still seem to have influence on your decisions, maybe not often, but sabotage is hiding in the shadows..

Letting go of beliefs and habits that seem out of rhythm with what you want to create can be hugely beneficial to, not only creating but, decluttering your material world and even losing weight.

The way we think influences everything. For example, if you identified yourself as a victim, you may find it beneficial to understand what it means to be a victim and then let go of the identity. If you have struggled to make enough money to pay the bills, practicing gratitude for what you have will allow you to release the struggle associated with paying the bills and help you to go into a neutral mental space, not one of anxiety, worry and fear. You may even find ways to make or save more money.

Letting go of material things starts with letting go of thinking patterns and habits. Remember: you can’t let go of something you can’t identify. Breathe and be present. And notice what might be getting in your way.

Play a game of “What would I do if I won 10 million dollars?” but only use your top five values to spend it.

Letting go of beliefs and habits can be a great way to create space for whatever you want to create next.
